Mayne Island Sighting

In 1986 a mysterious creature was seen climbing from the see by Mayne Island, British Columbia. Witnesses described it as being between 20 and 30 feet long, with “hundreds” of tentacle-like legs. In response to the sighting, Matthew Jenkins created a stunning woodcut depicting the mysterious creature. A woodcut, which has since become an iconic image of the event.
